Code of Conduct

The present Code of Conduct aims to set “business ethics” guidelines for customs representatives, establishing principles, values and rules of behavior encouraging them to achieve high standards of professional conduct and to properly perform their duties, protecting at the same time the revenues and the financial interests of States, as well as the rights of customers.
This Code also includes a series of standards of  diligence, professional competence, integrity and selfdiscipline, aimed to guarantee the maintenance and the improvement of the quality of customs services provided by customs brokers. It establishes, in particular, rules concerning the methodology with which such services should be offered, as well as an obligation of continuous education for those providing them.
Ultimately, this Code is of value to the customers and to the wider business community too, as it clarifies the standards of behaviour they can expect from customs
